Letter From The Founder

Why begin with humanity?

A personal letter on faith, The Talents Initiative, and building technology in service to people.

I created Colvis Technologies from a simple conviction: technology should help people become more capable without asking them to become less human.

I’m one person doing this work. What I build reflects what I believe: people matter, trust must be earned, and the abilities entrusted to me should be used to serve others.

That belief is the heart of The Talents Initiative.

In Matthew 25:14–30, Jesus tells the story of a master who entrusts his servants with different amounts of wealth. Two put what they receive to work. Another buries his portion out of fear. When the master returns, he calls them to account for what they did with what he entrusted to them.

A “talent” in the parable is a sum of money. But the question it raises feels personal to me: What am I doing with what God has entrusted to me?

I know how to build technology. I can use that ability to help churches connect with the people they serve. The Talents Initiative is my response.

Through this initiative, I offer standard church app development and licensing at no charge. Churches cover their own third-party operating costs, such as Firebase, hosting, and any other services their app requires. I discuss those costs and the included features with each church before work begins.

The standard app is AI-free by default, focused on practical tools that support ministry. Each project has an agreed scope, timeline, and understanding of maintenance and support. I’m doing this personally, so I want to make promises I can honor and give each church an honest picture of what I can provide.

Your church. Your ministry. Your app. My gift.

That same sense of responsibility shapes everything I build at Colvis Technologies.

People are not inputs, profiles, or attention to be harvested. They have histories, relationships, responsibilities, and hopes. Technology should respect those things.

Trust matters because technology asks for a place in our lives. Privacy matters because a person’s inner life deserves protection. Intelligence matters because greater capability brings greater responsibility—and knowing how to build something also means asking whether it should be built.

My hope for Colvis is that it grows carefully and usefully, without losing the purpose that led me to begin. I want the work to reflect my faith through the care I take, the promises I keep, and the people I serve.

What has been entrusted to me was never meant to end with me.

Humanity first. Intelligence second.
